Add game length information to help users decide whether to add a game to their backlog based on its duration, or to sort their existing backlog by game length. Consider integrating the HowLongToBeat platform into KTOMG to support this feature.

Display how long to beat and allow games to be sorted/filtered based on the how long to beat.

I would add automated import of time played. It's in Steam and other platforms. Of course, manual adding of time is needed as well, but I wouldn't like to put it manually for all my games on Steam ;)

I would like to suggest a new feature that I believe would enhance the user experience on your website: the ability to track and display how much time users have spent playing a game or how long it typically takes to beat it.
This feature could include:
- A field where users can log the total hours they’ve played a game.
- An average “time to beat” based on community input, which could help other users get an idea of how long a game might take to complete.
- Optionally, a breakdown of time spent on different modes (e.g., story mode, multiplayer). This addition could be valuable for players who want to manage their time better or are simply curious about their gaming habits. It could also help users choose games based on how much time they have available to play.
Thank you for considering this suggestion. I believe it would be a useful and engaging feature for your community.

Hi everyone!
Good news. I talked to the owner of HLTB and got written permission to scape the site, as long as I don't abuse it. It's not guaranteed to always work but it could be "good enough" until an official API is released.
This means I will roll HLTB data ingestion to be part of this overall capability, as long as it works reliably.

Give us a date that we have beaten on completed a game.
Also when when we mark a game as beaten on completed let us choose a unspecified date for games we don't know the date of completion (just a category that maybe doesn't show on graphs or when sorting by date beaten). -

I have beat a game and would like to keep it as active to complete the game. So I can find it under active and beaten category. Also when I compete the game I'd like to find it under beaten and complete and active.
So allow us to choose more than one status.
Obviously active, paused and abandoned can't be together but others can be all selected. -

Thanks for the reply! I want Keep Track of My Games to be THE best game tracker out there. :) I've previously used Backloggery, but unfortunately the developer hasn't had much time for it, and the site is not optimized for mobiles (which is how I prefer updating my game progress). Backloggery had the "playing" status separate from the game progress status, which is why I suggested this idea.
Looking forward to see the feature in KTOMG, in one form or another!

I can understand this for sure. There is another planned idea to add progress (i.e. 90% complete). I think what might make sense is to consolidate Beaten/Completed into a single list and then you'd mark the game as beaten as a progress indicator but keep it in Active. Then when you're ready, move to Completed with a 100% progress.
I'll think about it some more. I have a few ideas that may make this whole workflow feel better, I think treating progression through a game NOT as a list will definitely be helpful but rather use the lists as a "state" of a game. Part of it I think is a UI issue, part of it is the transitioning between states, etc. and I'll play with some ideas.
Thanks for the suggestion! Keep it all coming, this is all a fluid process and depends on how people use the site.

For example, there are games that I have "beaten", but don't consider "completed" yet. When I'm still actively playing those games to complete them, I want to be able to set the game's status to "active" and "beaten" at the same time.

I think this would be a nice feature to have - even if the system could pull an average number from HLTB, it would be useful to figure out what to play (if length is an issue).

A synchronization/collaboration with those from http://www.gamelengths.com/ might be made.

By the way, I just want to say this site even as a beta it is now is superb. You people who are making this site are doing amazing work, and as long as you keep it up I can't wait to be a KTOMG hipster who gets to say "I had an account when they were in beta! Yeah, that's right, BEFORE they were the 6th largest website in the world."
What I am saying is you guys?/gals? are destined for success. -

If I could look at my list of games and see how much of a time commitment they are at a glance, I wouldn't have to individually search them on hltb. If this is possible I really think that this would be amazing.

So recently I've been trying to find a site or program for easily keeping track of how much time I put into games. I would like if there was an option of adding gameplay time to our games. It doesn't need to have some fancy tracking stuff, as long as I can manually add time to the games I play, that's good enough. All the other sites I found required the games to be in their database, but KTOMG has a much more extensive list of obscure games that I play.
Also, I see that adding custom games into our library is planned. When that happens, as long as I can add game time to those custom games, I'm happy.
