Hi, I wanted to share my experience - the IGDB seems very slow to update (I submitted a game over a week ago and it's still pending). I recently bought one of those massive indie game itch.io bundles, and there are at least 75 games that are not in the IGDB. The idea of having to submit and wait weeks for 75 individual games to show up feels overwhelming and, truthfully, some of the games are so tiny that I personally don't feel they even warrant an IGDB entry.
I would love the ability to add these games manually to my list, because otherwise I'll have to maintain a separate list somewhere of those 75 games and--after individually submitting all of them--have to periodically check back for each one to see if the IGDB entries exist yet, and then add them that way. It feels really cumbersome when it could easily be solved with allowing custom entries.
I also have 1) some small games I have made myself that I never have (and likely never will) publish, and 2) a few TTRPGs and board games that I would love to add...this is KTOMG, not KTOMVG, right? ;). Without custom entries, there is just no possible way for me to ever catalog these for my records.
Thanks for listening, and thanks for the great site.

I wanted to add an update: after waiting 11 days, the IGDB rejected my entry, saying it violated their content policy. (This is the game btw, it was featured in several magazines at the time of release and is legit, just with some disturbing elements: http://www.viralgame.org/)
I'm pretty frustrated, because it now feels like we are entirely at the mercy of the admins of IGDB about what games in our collections we are "allowed" to catalog. I really, really hope you add a way to create custom entries to bypass this censorship.
