Be able to rate games
a 5 star rating score can given to any game I have played
100 votesThis should be going along with the social features

App
Make an app for this website. Could be very beneficial, especially when it comes to push notifications and things like that. Just a thought.
80 votesThe site has been designed to work on mobile devices—try opening the site on your phone, for example. You can even pin the site to your home screen! However, we know that many people expect to find an app on the store and we plan to release apps for iOS, Android, and Windows 10. We’re also planning to release a desktop version of KTOMG but all this requires some extra work to make offline browsing possible. Thanks for the suggestion!

People who played this game also played...
When viewing a game, instead of just seeing how many people added it you should be able to see what other games those people added. For example a box on the side saying "Users who added Silent Hill to their list also added: Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3, Resident Evil 4, Outlast etc..."
This would be great for discovering new games from people who have similar taste to yours.

Add a release calendar
I want to see an upcoming schedule of games within the next few months so I know what's on the horizon and can follow games I'm interested in

List all games with different ways to sort and filter
Similar to the giantbomb database, when making a blank search, all games are listed with the ability to sort and filter it by any tags. This would be great to build my wishlist and backlog!
47 votesThis will be offered soon. We will update this when we’re closer to releasing this feature.

Achievement logging
I think that there should be a way we can enter and log the amount of achievements we have earned from games. I like to keep track of achievements and it would be nice to be able to note down this on the website.
41 votesI’ll do you one better, the planned functionality is to automatically sync achievements across Steam, Microsoft, and Sony systems using their services. I haven’t looked but it may be possible to take in achievements from GiantBomb too, which would provide an “official” way to add achievements to games that don’t expose any.

Improve search function
Searching only seems to return exact matches e.g. if I search for "metal gear solid" I am only shown the original game of that title and not the sequels.
37 votesSearch is pretty messed up at the moment, I definitely plan to improve it soon. In addition to making the relevancy better, I will be adding indicators for DLC/expansions/series, etc. Thank you for the feedback!

A much more useful Explore page
The ability to see more under each category. I'd personally like to see a lot more than just the 12 in each category.
And then perhaps a recommendation system, that will give a list of recommended games based on things like favorite games. Maybe even let us choose our favorite genres, and it will recommend games based on that.
34 votesDefinitely coming in the future—the explore page is an area we definitely want to expand on.
-
Allow custom games and metadata
Since not every game is not on giant bomb, could there be an option to write your own entry into the list? Perhaps add the option to put in the main game homepage into the entry too. Maybe even KToMG could periodically search your own entries and notify you if a giantbomb page has been made for one of those, and you can choose to update the info? Or perhaps expand the choices of databases to search from? Steam and steam greenlight would be good ones.
27 votesThis may be a future Powerup.
Currently any updates can be submitted to IGDB.com which is community-driven and changes will be reflected within an hour or so.

Allow us to differentiate between digital and physical copies
For PS3 games, I can choose "PS3" or "PlayStation Network (PS3)", but Giant Bomb has decided to not differentiate between physical and digital going forward, including no "PlayStation Network (PS4)" option [1]. I want to share with my friends and family what games I have, and knowing whether I have a physical copy they can borrow (friends) or it's a digital game that we would have to download (kids) would be helpful.

I want to be able to track releases in other regions or platforms
Right now KTOMG only tracks US release dates. If I'm in another region, I want to track my region's release (UK/AU/Japan). Furthermore, some platforms release at different times (e.g. The Elder Scrolls Online) so I would also like to track specific platforms.

Add a status option for ongoing games, even something simple just like 'owned' or 'ongoing'

17 votesThanks, I do plan to support this for games like Destiny, Fortnite, etc.

Reviews + Extension of Notes/Description
- Make Note/Description a little longer I usually leave decently sized reviews and had to cut many down to fit
- Make Note/Description editable on the game page screen (where you can add the game to your my games, change status, platforms, tags and list)
Im currently using Tags + Note/Description as a way to "review" games (by having lists dedicated for X stars and same with tags) but would be good if there was first class support for doing it (albeit optional as I'm sure not everyone would want it)
17 votesGreat feedback, ratings & reviews are definitely on the roadmap. I will keep this separate from Ratings since it's a similar but different capability. Right now Notes are meant to be small and not designed for review or long-form text. 100% agree with your feedback, and will be designing a first-class review experience soon!

Save filter criteria as "Views"
It would be fantastic if you could save a set of filters as a "view" that you can quickly click on to sort your library in a particular way, without having to set each individual filter criteria each time.
For instance, say I have a view I want to call "Unplayed Playstation Games". This filter might consist of the PS3, PS4 OR PSN platforms and the NOT SET play status. It would be great to save this view so that next time I want to view with these filters, I can just click that saved view.

Epic
Epic games import please!
16 votesI don't yet know what is needed for this, but either a desktop app, browser extension, or API ingestion would be planned for this like other import Powerups.

Making KTOMG more social
I really like KTOMG but I think it's lacking some features especially when it comes to social ones. For example there is no way to contact other users via messaging or commenting on ones profile. Another thing is every game entry has the information about how many added this game/playing it right now etc. Wouldn't it be great to connect with others who are playing the same game right now. You could check out their profile, maybe finding games you overlooked, exchange about the game with said messaging or meet up for a multiplayer match
16 votesThis is 100% on our roadmap. We want to ensure we have a solid core experience managing games before we work on social integration, activity timelines, messaging, etc. Subscribe to this idea for updates on progress towards this goal.

Add a played status
There are games that with just playing for some time you have a somewhat complete experience, for example, i have not beaten minecraft but played enough to had it played and not necessarily come back to it, its not abandonned either, just played and enjoyed.
16 votesThanks for the feedback. I agree, and this will be part of a larger status rewrite in a future update.
Right now "Beaten", "Abandoned", "Completed", and "Mastered" are all considered a Played game, but I also know these are confusing to people so I'll be simplifying it with a single Played status with different completion states, tied into the new Playthrough & Progress Tracking features.
For now, adding it to Beaten will achieve the same goal, but I understand it'll feel a little off.

Fast platform selection.
If a game is only available on one platform, it could be added to that platform automatically when adding it to my collection. On a second thought, it could also narrow the platforms to my owned platforms, so if a game is released on say ps2 and xbox and I only own xbox, the game is added to xbox.
When clicking the "+" icon on the game you want to add, it could also display the owned platforms where the game is available so you can add it to the collection with the platform and status on a single step.…16 votesWe plan to improve how platform selection is handled across the site so it’s easy and fast (and smart). Only displaying owned platforms are supported already, though it won’t auto-select them. To select owned platforms, just edit your profile.

Add a setting to make the whole profile private
Lists can already be hidden, but there should also be an option to completely hide your profile from the public.
Currently anyone can see your:
• profile picture
• username
• amount of games
• amount of wishlisted games
• amount of favorited games
• progress (breakdown of you game statuses)
• game activity
• ownership (breakdown of your platforms)
• genres (breakdown of your game genres)
• top developers
• top platformsFor more privacy, there should ideally be a public/private toggle for every one of these details. A shortcut to make everything private would also be appreciated. Making…
15 votesYep, good idea. In addition to “hiding” games, this is planned for sure and may switch to be the default setting.

Keep Track of My Deals
As a (casual or serious) gamer, I want to be notified when my games go on sale, so that I can buy them at a discount without constantly checking if they are on sale.
